Camping in Chertsey

29th June 2010

It was Mary's birthday, and we enjoyed a wonderful day out visiting the Royal Horticultutal Society at  Wisley. Mary had always wanted to see the Lilly Pond, and here we were at long last.

At the time we were camping for a few days on the bank of the Thames at the CCC (Camping and Caravanning Club) campsite in Chertsey.  We really didn't expect to find such a lovely campsite right in the middle of London. Chertsey has lots of places to eat, and is SO convenient for visiting Wisley, Hampton Court Palace and so many other places.

As you may have guessed, two interests we have in common are camping and the enjoyment of plants and gardens.
Over the 26 years we have been living in our present house we have gradually changed the garden from an ex-building site into a pleasant terraced place for shrubs, flowers, vegatables, a (plastic) greenhouse, a place for a rotary line, and of course, a lawn where we can check out or tents before going camping, and drying them out afterwards!
